Inventory and invoicing for electronics & device retailers
Serial and IMEI tracking on individual units, followed from the purchase order to the sale and back.
The problem
Every unit is individually identifiable and individually valuable. When a customer comes back with a fault, you need to know that this exact handset was the one you sold, when, and at what price — and a quantity in a spreadsheet cannot tell you.
What ulostock does about it
Identifiers on individual units
Mark a product as carrying asset identifiers and every physical unit gets its own record — its identifier number, the branch holding it, and its current status.
Followed through the whole chain
The same identifier is attached at each step: received against a purchase order item, moved on a stock transfer, sold on a sale item, and returned on a sale return item. The history of a single unit is a query, not an investigation.
Variants pinned to the unit
Colour, capacity or any other variant option is recorded against the individual unit as well as the product, so the identifier tells you which configuration left the shop.
Returns matched to what was sold
A return is processed against the original sale and its identifiers, so the unit coming back is the unit that went out — and stock restoration is exact rather than approximate.
Priced per intake, not per catalogue
Purchase price and sale prices are held on the intake the unit came in on, so a device bought at two different costs reports two different margins instead of one blended average.
Questions we get asked
Yes. Mark the product as carrying asset identifiers and each unit is recorded individually by its identifier number, with its own status and branch.
Yes. The identifier is attached to the sale item it was sold on, so an individual unit can be traced from the purchase order that brought it in to the sale that took it out and any return that brought it back.
No. Asset identifiers are switched on per product, so serialised items and ordinary stock can sit in the same catalogue.
